Savage's, is an on-site scratch bakery & deli using the finest ingredients. Bakery items are all handcut and molded for that old fashioned, homemade quality and taste.
Founded in 1939 by Mr. William Savage and relocated in the 1950's to Downtown Homewood. Van Scott purchased the bakery in 1978 to proudly uphold and expand upon its reputation.

Kurt Hertrich began his career as a youth in his native Switzerland, where he attended the Professional School for Pastry Cooks (Konditor), St. Gallen, Switzerland, and the Technical School in Richemont, Luzern, Switzerland.

Wedding Cakes by Kurt now focuses this lifetime of experience in Europe and the United States on the creation of superbly beautiful and delicious cakes for the Birmingham area’s most elegant occasions.
